Sport’s injuries

Targeted rehabilitation in view of the injury and with the goal of regaining optimal function and returning to sport. The rehabilitation will be sport specific and will help to prevent future injury.

Pelvic floor rehabilitation and women’s health

Holistic evaluation of the musculoskeltal health and pelvic floor. Pelvic floor conditions are very common and are important to treat. One in four women will have urine incontinence problems and one in two women who delivered will suffer from a degree of prolapse. Pelvic floor education is important to any women and can help prevent the associated conditions. Other conditions treated include: pelvic pain, pregnancy related musculoskeletal conditions, pain during sexual intercourse and more.

Lital Pentelka is an experienced physiotherapist who qualified in 2007. She holds an advanced clinical MSc degree from The University of Brighton from 2011. She specialises in the fields of musculoskeletal physiotherapy, sports injuries and women’s health including pelvic floor rehabilitation. She also has a broad based physiotherapy experience working in both inpatient and outpatient departments for rehabilitation of orthopaedic, neurological, complex trauma and musculoskeletal conditions. She has been working in private practice since 2013 and has almost a decade of experience within the Ministry of defence treating soldiers and high ranking officers in the navy, RAF and army.

Mr Gareth Ziyambi brings over 20 years of extensive clinical experience in elite sport and private practice to his role as a principal physiotherapist at A2Z Elite Health.

Described as having an easy bedside manner and at ease with explaining complex problems, Mr Ziyambi’s clinical interests include the management of complex shoulder, upper and low back, hip and knee injuries, for which he uses an array of assessment techniques and equipment to provide definitive information and guide rehabilitation plans. He also has interests in training in various sports and rehabilitating sports injuries including Running, Triathlon, Swimming, Tennis, Golf and CrossFit injuries.

Mr Ziyambi’s clinical interests also include advanced rehabilitation working alongside leading Sports Medicine, Pain and Orthopaedic consultants. This includes the use of blood flow restriction training, functional electrical stimulation as well as creating rehabilitation protocols that have been used at an elite level and in the clinic.

Mr Ziyambi qualified in 1997 in his native Zimbabwe and established a successful practice there as well as working with a number of sports including Davis Cup Tennis, Cricket, Hockey and Athletics before moving to the UK in 2004.

Mr Ziyambi worked extensively in the elite sport sector most notably with British Diving since 2006 during which he was the Head Physiotherapist for 6 years. He also works with Energy Standard swimming Club, the first international swimming club with top swimmers from different countries. He has worked at the English Institute of Sport and has consulted for British Swimming

He has attended 4 Olympic Games (Athens, Beijing, London & Rio), 2 All-Africa Games, the Afro-Asia Games (as a physiotherapist for Africa Athletics in India) as well as 11 World Championships and numerous European Championships and World Series competitions with British Diving.
