Rapti Mediwake qualified in Medicine at University of Southampton in 1992

She trained at the London teaching Hospitals, both in Rheumatology and General Medicine including Royal Free, Middlesex and Royal London hospitals.  Whilst a registrar she did research at The Royal Brompton Hospital in rheumatological associated lung disease.  She is a Consultant at Barnet Hospital and runs the rheumatology service at Edgware Hospital and does acute medicine at Barnet, where she runs a medical ward. Patients can be admitted if necessary to the Garden Hospital or the Wellington Hospital.
